Glass Blowing beginner's Class

Sometimes it can be hard to see the glass as half-full, but you won't have to put on rose-tinted glasses to see value.
Let Saul and Gina Alcaraz put their years of glassblowing expertise to good use, mentoring you through the process of wielding rods tipped with molten glass, adding color to your piece, and shaping your creation into a vase, tumbler, paperweight, or another wonderful keepsake. Pick up your art piece the next day. This is the beginner's glassblowing class.

He gave us a tour of the work room, explaining the history of glass blowing while showing us some 100+ year old pieces that are being recreated due to damage. His assistant showed us how we would create our bowl (you can choose a vase, drinking glass, or bowl) and explained each step during the process. Then it was our turn! Either the owner or assistant were quick to lend a hand when it was needed. There was always someone b [...read more]
